A professional counselor once asked me, “How have you survived 41 years with mental illness?”
My response is two-fold. I have faith and the support of my wonderful family. As a Catholic, my faith has led me to persevere in my struggling mental anguish. My family makes certain that I do not forget to give credit to God for all He has done for me.
Every day I wake up and thank God, praising Him, for the wonderful gift of life. I battle with fear, doubt, and advancing age, but the small voice…a whisper…encourages me to fight, and “Keep on, keeping on.”
“…for nothing is impossible to God!”
